The PIF is required to provide all relevant documents related to its American investments, comprising records relating to the PIF itself, communications and documents leading to the framework agreement between the PGA Tour and LIV Golf, and materials pertaining to Saudi Arabia’s economic diversification and development plan, ‘Vision 2030.’
Recognizing the finite nature of oil as an asset, Saudi Arabia’s ‘Vision 2030’ aims to transition and invest in various industries, including sports and tourism. However, the Senate’s increased scrutiny is a direct consequence of the PIF’s substantial investments in prominent American companies, such as Uber and Twitter, coupled with al-Rumayyan’s lack of cooperation.
